Is this a fall miracle? Pretty Little Liars isn't slated to return for its final season until April, but creator I. Marlene King tweeted out some big clues on Friday about what we can expect in the show's final two hours.
While King only tweeted sporadic lines in the script, which she's still in the process of writing, there's a lot to be gathered from each snapshot. Check out each of the tweets and we'll break down what each of them could mean for our favorite Liars.
1. Spencer survives!
The first tweet has to be a relief for Spencer (Troian Bellisario) fans. She's telling Alison (Sasha Pieterse) she needs everyone together, which is a pretty great indicator that she's going to survive being shot by A.D. last season's finale. The bigger question about this tweet is, what does she need everyone together for? Is she part of one of the two weddings we were told to expect this season? Let's hold on to that thought.
2. Toby is alive too...probably
Would King really confirm two characters fates this far ahead of the season? It's possible that Toby's (Keegan Allen) line is from a flashback sequence, but if it's a flashback why would he be talking about a girl who "used to say"? The official statement on Toby's fate after his season finale car crash is that he's "possibly dead." But if you combine that with the fact that King said Toby is her favorite character and TVGuide.com recently talked to Allen on set for episode 7, we're thinking that Toby is also going to be alive when we return to Rosewood.
3. There's only one Liar that would care about ugly crying
Call us presumptuous, but have you ever read a more Hanna (Ashley Benson) line in your entire life? As things stand right now, Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) and Hanna and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) are the favorites to make it down the aisle. Hanna is the perfectionist when it comes to her outer appearance though (hello, she's a fashion designer) and it sounds the most like her to tell Caleb to stop looking at her so as not to ruin the wedding photos. We also find it impossible to imagine Aria ugly crying for some reason.
4. It's a show about romance...and MURDER
There isn't a lot to go on here, because we have no idea who is talking to whom, but past PLL experience tells us that A.D. will still be alive and well in the finale. Will one of our Liars get trapped by their tormentor or does someone else in Rosewood have reason to fear for their life?
5. A book metaphor to make you really sad
This dialogue turns out to be the best metaphor for the end of Pretty Little Liars. Is King trying to give us some hope that there will be a happy ending even if we don't want to see the girls go? Again, we're not sure who is doing the talking here but a book analogy seems perfect for Aria and Ezra, but we could also see Spencer saying something like this as well.
What do you think of the tweets? Who is getting married and who's getting murdered?
The final season of Pretty Little Liars returns in April 2017.
