Mark Salling has passed away at the age of 35. TMZ reports the former Glee star was found dead of an apparent suicide near a riverbed in Los Angeles in the area where he lived. No cause of death has been confirmed.
Salling had been awaiting sentencing after he pled guilty to possession of child pornography. According to the plea agreement, a search of Salling's home found over 50,000 images of child porn on his computer and a thumb drive. Salling's sentencing had been set for March and he was facing four to seven years in prison. He had been arrested on the charges in December 2015.
The actor shot to fame playing Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Glee. A breakout star on the series, he was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards in 2010 for his role. He also released a solo album, Pipe Dreams, that same year. In addition to Glee, Salling appeared in Children of the Corn IV and The X Factor.
