Carey has signed on to do a residency at Caesars Palace during Celine Dion's leave of absence. "This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this because I'm gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1's, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them," Carey revealed on Ellen Thursday.
But in true diva style, Carey was not satisfied with a simple announcement on a talk show. The singer surprised her fans in Vegas over the weekend to reveal the news - dressed as a French maid, no less.
