According to Empire's creator Lee Daniels, Mariah Carey has joined the roster of guest stars for the show's second season.
The Associated Press reports that Daniels said that the singer will appear in the upcoming season Wednesday at Carey's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. There's no other intel on what role she might play on the show (or how Cookie Lyon might take to her), but Fox is expected to talk more about Empire Season 2 at their Television Critics Association fall preview presentation on Thursday.

The Grammy winner previously appeared in Daniels' films The Butler and Precious. She would join previously announced guest stars Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Marisa Tomei, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz.
