In case you didn't already know it, Mariah Carey really, really did not enjoy being a judge on American Idol.
In case you didn't already know it, Mariah Carey really, really did not enjoy being a judge on American Idol.
In a radio interview with Hot 97 on Wednesday, the singer said of her Idol experience last season, "Honestly, I hated it. ... I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. ... It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan." Wait, who is she comparing to Satan? If she only thought there would be three judges —including her old friend, returning judge Randy Jackson — then it stands to reason that she's calling out the fourth judge, who is most likely her frequent feud partner and fellow artist Nicki Minaj.

After those comments, Carey tried to laugh them off, saying, "Nah, just playing. It didn't affect me that much." She then complained about the process of letting go good contestants for political reasons. In the end, she concluded, "I liked being in the studio better and going on my own tours, et cetera. So we're going back to that."
