AladdinandThe Lion King are in theaters, choker necklaces are back in fashion, and now Making the Band is returning to MTV. Someone has officially broken the time-space continuum -- and, frankly, thank you!
Sean "Diddy" Combs announced on Instagram on Monday that MTV is reviving Making the Band, the iconic reality series launched in 2000 on ABC. The show moved to MTV after one season. Diddy joined the series beginning with Making the Band 2 in 2002, acting as judge and mentor in the search to create the next great band. "I've made my decision... #MakingTheBand is coming back!!! This will be a global talent search, upload your auditions now using #MTBcasting!!" Diddy captioned his video announcement of the revival series.
"We couldn't be happier to welcome back the incomparable Sean 'Diddy' Combs to his rightful home at MTV," said Nina L. Diaz, MTV's President of Entertainment in a statement. "Making the Band was ahead of its time and the ultimate disruptor -- fans everywhere have been clamoring for a return and they are in for the biggest, most iconic season yet."
