The network is developing a potential Major Crimesoffshoot that would star Jon Tenney, TVLine.com reports.
25 totally unnecessary spin-offs
Tenney first appeared on The Closer as Special Agent Fritz Howard, the husband of the series' main character,Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick). Following The Closer's seven-season run, Tenney has reprised his character on five episodes of Major Crimes, which features several stars from the flagship series.
Fritz would appear in a planted spin-off during the third season. Tenney is also slated to guest-star in the Season 3 premiere, which airs Monday, June 9 at 9/8c.
In addition to his work on Major Crimes, Tenney starred in the short-lived 2013 TNT series King & Maxwell and most recently recurred on Scandal as Fitz's running mate, Andrew Nichols.
