Exclusive Video: Get a First Look at AMC's Low Winter Sun
AMC's upcoming series Low Winter Sun is about police officers, but it's a far cry from the typical police procedural. The plot revolves around two detectives, played by Mark Strong and Lennie James, who murder a dirty cop in their department. "This isn't a story about the minutiae of police work," James says in a behind-the-scenes video exclusive to TVGuide.com. "This is a thriller about people who have secrets and have ulterior motives."

"This isn't a story about the minutiae of police work," James says in a behind-the-scenes video exclusive to TVGuide.com. "This is a thriller about people who have secrets and have ulterior motives."
Adds James: "They made this decision to kill a man before they really figured out whether or not they could trust each other. And instantly, the lines between good and evil and right and wrong are blurred."
Director Ernest Dickerson describes the series — which debuts after the premiere of Breaking Bad at 10/9c on Sunday, Aug. 11 — as a "film noir."
