Think you have what it takes to be the next Donny and Marie? The producers of American Idol will hold an open casting call for a new series called Can You Duet? on Jan. 12 in Nashville. The CMT reality series, scheduled to debut in spring 2008, will showcase country-music wannabes singing duets while judges whittle down the competition Idol-style. Aspiring singers can also audition via videotape by Dec. 7.

"We've always wanted to be in the music-competition business, but we hadn't found the right concept until now," says Bob Kusbit, Head of Development for CMT. "We're thrilled to create the kind of buzzworthy series that not only has the potential to be a hit for CMT, but to create the next big country stars."
