Naveen Andrews Naveen Andrews

Before Lost kicks off its final season (Tuesday, Feb. 2, 9/8c, ABC), we're flashing back to May 2009 to remember where all of our favorite characters left off — and predict what might happen next.

Lost: Blink and you'll miss the new Season 6 footage

SAYID JARRAH (Naveen Andrews)

Where We Left Off: After Jack went all commando in New Otherton, Sayid was shot by Roger Linus. At first, his injuries didn't seem life-threatening — he was retrofitting Jughead's core to detonate at the Swan Station. But by the episode's end, Hurley was lugging him around like a sack of potatoes and he was announcing his own fate: "Nothing can save me."

What's Next: When Sayid shot little Ben, his story line exploded with potential, but after Richard saved Ben ("he'll never be the same"), that loose end was tied up. Sayid's story is winding down, and it's hard to imagine what more we could learn about him.

Burning Questions: Is Sayid going to make it? Did Jacob's "touch" save him from dying? And if so, why was Andrews in New York shooting an episode of Law & Order: SVU right in the middle of Lost's production schedule?
