London Olympics' Skydiver Dies in Wingsuit Accident

Mark Sutton, who parachuted dressed as James Bond during the 2012 London Olympics' Opening Ceremonies, died Wednesday in a wingsuit accident, Sky News reports. 
The British skydiver crashed into a mountain near Martigny in the Swiss Alps while partaking in a three-day event, during which 20 wingsuit pilots were filmed jumping from helicopters.

Sutton died on the first day, after jumping from nearly 11,000 feet in the air along with fellow flyer Tony Uragallo. According to police, the pair were planning to fly close to the terrain and land in a village in France. But due to an unfortunate accident, Sutton crashed into the mountain and died on impact. His injuries were so severe that they were only able to identify his body through a DNA test."We do not know what caused his death but we know it was immediate," said Jean-Marie Bornet, a member of the Valais police force. "The weather was good, but when a pilot takes part in this sport, the aim is to fly very close to the ground or mountain side. "If you do this at speeds of 200kmh, the margin for error is very small."
