The weird, little mystical surfer show will be back in 2019
Lodge 49, AMC's odd, little mystical surfer drama, has been renewed for a second season ahead of next week's Season 1 finale, the network announced Thursday. Season 2 will air in 2019.
Lodge 49 stars Wyatt Russell as Sean "Dud" Dudley, a surfer in Long Beach, California who's adrift after the death of his father and the collapse of his family business until he stumbles upon the mysterious fraternal order of the title, where he might learn some magical secrets that will get his life back on track. It's a really difficult show to describe -- it's sort of like Terriers, but not -- but it's really good. Take our word for it if you're not watching.
The Season 1 finale airs Monday, Oct. 8 at 10:30/9:30c on AMC, after the supersized Season 4 finale of Better Call Saul. The season is available to stream on the network's premium streaming service AMC Premiere, as well as AMC.com, the AMC app and on demand.
