Lifetime Adapts U.K. Drama Prisoners' Wives

The British TV drama Prisoners' Wives could be arriving on these shores, via Lifetime. The cable network is developing a U.S. version of the show from Endemol Studios.The drama is based on a format from Tiger Aspect about four different women who cope with a man in her life serving time in prison.

The British TV drama Prisoners' Wives could be arriving on these shores, via Lifetime. The cable network is developing a U.S. version of the show from Endemol Studios.
The drama is based on a format from Tiger Aspect about four different women who cope with a man in her life serving time in prison. In the U.K., Prisoners' Wives, created and written by Julie Gearey, aired on BBC One. Emma Rigby, Polly Walker, Pippa Haywood and Natalie Gavin starred in that version, which was set in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
The U.K. Prisoners' Wives, which was both critically acclaimed and a ratings hit, will air a second season in 2013.
In the U.S., Endemol's Jeremy Gold and Russ Buchholz are overseeing the project.
