Dude, where's Clayne Crawford?

Fox announced Sunday that the action drama Lethal Weapon has been renewed for a third season with American Pie's Seann William Scott taking over the co-lead role from Clayne Crawford, who was fired last week for inappropriate on-set behavior. Scott will play a new character who takes over as Murtaugh's (Damon Wayans) partner. This is Scott's first series regular role.

Crawford was dismissed for reportedly creating a hostile work environment on the set of the show. He says he lost his temper over what he characterizes as safety-related lapses on set and apologized. However, other actors and crew members reportedly didn't feel safe continuing to work with him.

Crawford issued a statement on Instagram after the news broke, wishing the cast and crew the best for Season 3. "Riggs was a dream role and the experience will live with me forever. My heart is full," Crawford wrote.

Seann William Scott is best known for his string of late '90s/early '00s comedy movies like the American Pie series, Road Trip and Dude, Where's My Car?He's recently starred in the cult hockey films Goon and Goon: Last of the Enforcers.
