Jay Leno thinks he and Conan O'Brien were "treated terribly" by NBC.
When Joy Behar made a guest appearance Tuesday night on The Tonight Show, she brought cameras backstage to catch Leno in an impromptu interview about the late-night debacle.
Leno's Tonight Show still beating Letterman, but not like before
"Conan got screwed. I got screwed," Leno said. "This is TV. The reason show business pays a lot of money is so when you get screwed you've got something left over."
After negotiations for Leno to return to late night — while pushing O'Brien's Tonight Show to a later time — fell through, Leno was reinstated as the host, while O'Brien left NBC.
Fox affiliates chairman: "There's nothing definitive on Conan"
"I think Conan will come back and he'll be strong," Leno said. "And we'll all compete against one another. It should be me against [David] Letterman, against Conan, against [Jimmy] Kimmel, and then you see who wins," he said.
