Cersei has moved on
Lena Headey has finally settled on her first on-camera TV role post Game of Thrones. The actress will star in Showtime's new drama pilot Rita, TV Guide has learned.
Headey is set to play the titular character in Rita, whichis based on a Danish series. According to the network, her character is a teacher and single mother who has no problems in going up against authority in an "unfiltered" way. No other casting has been announced, but Headey will also serve as executive producer of the pilot alongside Christian Torpe and Elisa Ellis.

The news comes days after it was revealed that Headey will be joining the voice cast of Netflix's Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance with Awkwafina and Sigourney Weaver, among others. Dark Crystal and Rita are Headey's first TV rolls since wrapping production on Game of Thrones last year. She can also be seen in the upcoming action film Gunpowder Milkshake with Karen Gillan next year.
