How Well Does the Legacies Cast Know Their Vampire Diaries History?

Guess who's a secret TVD expert?

Though it's set in the world of The Vampire Diariesand The Originals, Legacies is already hard at work establishing its own mythology with a whole host of new monsters and magical spells in its first season. That being said, the show still has to pay attention to the supernatural legacy (pun totally intended) it inherited from the previous shows when it comes to things like daylight rings and Siphoner witches.

To figure out just how much this new cast studied up on the monster mythology of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, TV Guide put them through their paces, testing their knowledge on everything from Originals to Doppelgangers to Heretics in a game of Legacies or Lies! We mixed up real facts from the previous shows with a few fake ones to test who knew their stuff and who needed to spend a little more time in the Stefan Salvatore Memorial Library hitting the books.

Unsurprisingly, not many of the newbies could keep the wild worlds of Mystic Falls and New Orleans straight (and with over 250 episodes of crazy hijinks to remember between the two shows, who can blame them?), but there were a couple of standout experts among the cast.

Matt Davis managed to identify nearly every single legacy and lie, but that's to be expected given that he's been part of the franchise since Season 1 of The Vampire Diaries. Kaylee Bryant, who plays Josie Saltzman, turned out to be another secret expert. Though we did manage to stump her on a couple questions, Bryant had clearly done her homework on everything from Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) werewolf lineage to the different ways you can kill a vampire.

Bravo to everyone who played, and to some of you... better luck next time?

Legacies airs Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
