It might have been a stressful week for Olivia Benson, but once again Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's ace detective is coming out on top.

SVU is being renewed for Season 19 after sitting on the cancellation bubble during TV's annual bloodbath week, TVGuide.com has learned. It took a long time for the peacock network to announce the pick-up, but it's not shocking. NBC loves Law & Order creator Dick Wolf and also picked up three of his four Chicago shows earlier in the week. The procedural also holds the title of longest-running drama currently on TV.

That is not the record the show really wants though. SVU is now only three seasons away from breaking the longest running television drama ever record. NBC recklessly canceled SVU's flagship series Law & Order after only 20 seasons, sentencing the procedural to go down in the record books as tying Gunsmoke rather than holding the honor on its own. SVU must now do what its predecessor wasn't able to do.

2016-2017 TV Scorecard: Which Shows Are Returning? Which Aren't?

We have all the faith that SVU's "elite squad of detectives" will be able to bring the prize home. Olivia Benson doesn't settle for second place, y'all.
