After becoming the newest cast member of CBS' biggest hit show, Laurence Fishburne seems to want to settle down with the network.
The recently introduced CSIstar has signed a first-look deal with CBS Paramount Network TV to develop new small-screen projects, Varietyreports. As outlined in the pact, Fishburne's Cinema Gypsy Prods. will be located on CBS's Radford lot in Studio City.
The announcement comes after Fishburne's debut on CSI drew the show's best ratings since the season premiere, averaging 20.9 million viewers. Former TV One and Paramount TV exec Rose Catherine Pinkney will oversee Fishburne's television arm.
"I have always wanted to continue to expand our production efforts at Cinema Gypsy into television, and Rose Catherine's extensive background and experience in TV is a natural fit with those plans," Fishburne said.
Fishburne's executive producer credits for TV include HBO's Miss Evers' Boys and Always Outnumbered, and Cinema Gypsy has also produced the feature films Akeelah and the Bee and Hoodlum.
