But don't expect to see it before 2020
There's good news, bad news, and more good news when it comes to Last Man Standingon Fox.
The first good news is that the show is officially coming back for Season 8 on its new network home (after making the jump from ABC at the beginning of Season 7). But the bad news is that Last Man Standing won't actually kick off in the fall like it has in the past.
However, more good news is that when it does return sometime in the future, it's got a prime spot on Thursday nights, taking the vacated spot of Thursday Night Football once the season concludes. Star Tim Allen revealed the news himself, tweeting Monday afternoon about the show's new placement:
For the 2019-2020 season, Last Man Standing has given up its Friday spot to WWE's Smackdown Live, which is set to debut Oct. 4. During the Fox conference call before their annual upfront presentation Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn explained, "One of the other goals was to find a new companion to Last Man Standing which the network found in new family sitcom Outmatched," a series about a blue-collar couple (Maggie Lawson and Jason Biggs) in South Jersey trying to get by and raise four kids, three of whom just happen to be certified geniuses.

From what Allen tweeted, along with Thorn's comments, it looks like Fox is getting ready to create its own comedy block, which will desperately be needed on Thursday nights following the departure of The Big Bang Theory on CBS this season.
Last Man Standing will air its Season 8 in 2020.
