Hold on, today's dose of award-show hoopla is far from over. Brokeback Mountain and Heath Ledger received top film and actor honors from the New York Film Critics Circle, while Reese Witherspoon was named best actress for her turn in Walk the Line. The National Board of Review, however, picked Good Night, and Good Luck as its best film — but christened Brokeback's Ang Lee as best director — and bestowed Capote's Philip Seymour Hoffman and Transamerica's Felicity Huffman with the top acting awards. (Hoffman and Huffman? Hmm, I agree, that needs some looking into.)
