Kristin Chenoweth released from hospital after injury on The Good Wife set
"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time," Chenoweth told Peoplein a statement. "[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern."
The 43-year-old actress — whose credits include Pushing Daisies, Gleeand GCB— was recently cast as a top political journalist who wants the inside scoop on Peter Florrick's campaign for governor, as well as his and Alicia's marriage. In July, Chenoweth was struck in the head by lighting equipment on the set. She was treated at a local hospital and released the following day.
Chenoweth, who had booked a multi-episode arc, will still appear in the season premiere, though CBS hopes to have her return. "We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she's feeling better," the network said in a statement.
The Good Wife returns Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9/8c on CBS.
Reps for Chenoweth did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
