Well before the series finale of Game of Thrones aired, star Kit Harington checked himself into a rehab facility in Connecticut, where he's been staying for the last few weeks.

According to a story first published by Page Six, and confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, Harington has been in rehab "for stress and alcohol use." According to Page Six, Harington "has been undergoing psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy to combat stress and deal with negative emotions" at luxury health retreat Privé-Swiss in Connecticut.

Harington's reps have not yet returned TV Guide's request for comment.

Sources in the Page Sixstory explain that the ending of the HBO series hit Harington really hard, explaining, "He realized 'this is it -- this is the end', it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next?" He's been spotted around the Connecticut area -- since the facility allows him the freedom to leave -- and has told locals in the area that he's been on "holiday." Meanwhile, his wife, former Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie, "is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet," a "friend" of Harington told Page Six.

Leading up to the final episodes of the series, Harington wore his emotions on his sleeve, frequently explaining in interviews and on talk shows that he was having a hard time saying goodbye to Jon Snow. In the Game of Thrones post-finale documentary, The Last Watch, Harington is shown fighting back tears as he after filming his last scene as Jon Snow. "I love this show... more than, I think, anything," he explains to the cast and crew. "It has never been a job for me. It has been my life. This will always be the greatest thing I've ever been a part of."
