About a month after she suffered a mini stroke and was forced to drop out of Dancing with the Stars, Kim Zolciak is on the road to recovery after undergoing heart surgery.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared a picture of herself on Instagram Tuesday, describing her operation as "a success."

"Quite the whirlwind this last month has been ... but such a blessing too," she added.

Zolciak suffered a mini stroke last month, after flying from Los Angeles to Atlanta after competing on Dancing. Because doctors urged her not to fly afterwards, she was unable to return to the ballroom, and she and partner Tony Dovolani were forced to quit the competition in Week 3. (They subsequently started a petition to return to the show, but the rules state that if a contestant is unable to compete due to injury, they must drop out.)

But, it was while treating her mini stroke that doctors discovered she had a heart condition and recommended surgery.
