Kim Richards' ex-husband Monty Brinson has died after a long battle with cancer. Brinson was 58.
"We have lost Monty Brinson after a brave battle with cancer," Rick Hilton, Richards' brother-in-law, revealed on Instagram Sunday night. "His heart was as big as the moon and he was loved by all he met. He will be sorely missed. I love you always!"
Brinson and Richards were married from 1985 to 1988. The couple, who share 29-year-old daughter Brooke, stayed close following the divorce, with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar taking care of Brinson in recent years as his lung cancer worsened.

Richards and Brinson always maintained a positive attitude throughout his illness. On his birthday a few weeks ago, Richards shared a loving post dedicated to her ex. "I love you so much. We have come so far, let's keep it going," Richards wrote. "I'm right by your side forever! I wish for you happiness, courage, peace, laughter, love, strength and Every [dream] you've EVER DREAMED OF!!!!"
"I'd like to thank all the people who have crossed my path you've all touched my heart may everyone have a blessed night and much love to everyone," Brinson wrote on Instagram a few days before his passing.
