Kiefer Sutherland Shares His Thoughts on the Jack Bauer-less 24: Legacy

How does the original Jack Bauer feel about Fox's reboot?

Tim Surette

When the 24 franchise returns to Fox next year with 24: Legacy, it will do so without its poster child Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), the operative who made "Dammit!" a national war cry in the war on terror. Instead, the new action series will focus on a new character (played by Corey Hawkins), a war vet who finds himself a marked man and works with the CTU to stop terror attacks on U.S. soil.

So how does the original Jack Bauer feel about this?

24 secrets we learned about 24: Legacy

"I've always believed very strongly that the star of 24 was the idea," Sutherland told TVGuide.com. Aww, c'mon Kiefer, give yourself a little more credit!

Sutherland also explained his role behind the scenes, what he thinks of the first two episodes (he's already seen 'em!) and shared some details about the casting process. Check out the video to hear it all from Sutherland's mouth.

Sutherland can currently be seen in ABC's Designated Survivor on Wednesday nights at 10/9c. 24: Legacy is scheduled to debut on Fox Feb. 5, 2017 following the Super Bowl.
