The Shaker Heights Fire Department is about to be very busy, y'all.
Kerry Washington has just shared a first look at herself and Reese Witherspoon on the set of their adaptation of Celeste Ng's 2017 novel Little Fires Everywhere, and we definitely like what's cooking in this kitchen.
Witherspoon plays Elena Richardson, an affluent mother who is strident about protecting her kids but is kept in the dark about what's really happening under her own roof, while Washington plays Mia Warren, a woman who moves into the Richardsons' rental home with her teenage daughter, who becomes close to their three children. Tensions escalate when Mia intercedes in another woman's attempt to regain custodial rights to the child she'd given up during a bout with postpartum depression, and her own daughter's parental history begins to surface.
In addition to leading the cast, Washington and Witherspoon also serve as executive producers on the limited series, which will be available on Hulu. They will share the screen with Joshua Jackson, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jordan Elsass, Gavin Lewis, Megan Stott, Lexi Underwood, and Jade Pettyjohn.
Production began on Little Fires Everywhere in late May.
