Someone turns up dead on the Sept. 25 season premiere of CBS's CSI. Who's the corpse in the casket? Executive producer Don McGill offers some clues:

- The funeral takes place three days after the events of May's cliffhanger, when the lives of Morgan Brody (Elisabeth Harnois) and Jim Brass's prostitute stepdaughter, Ellie (Teal Redmann), were in jeopardy. "There is someone in there who is a member of the CSI family," McGill confirms. "It will be clear whose memorial service it is at the very end of the show, and I think it will very much be a surprise and a shock to the audience."

- Examine the photos, both from a scene that takes place at the beginning of the episode, to see who is in attendance — Russell (Ted Danson), Finlay (Elisabeth Shue), Greg (Eric Szmanda), Ecklie (Marc Vann), Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), Nick (George Eads) and Sara (Jorja Fox) — and, more important, who is not. McGill confirms that additional mourners arrive at the church later in the hour.

- The person behind last season's serial murders will also be revealed.

- This stiff won't be the episode's only recognizable casualty. "As more characters die," McGill says, "it will be interesting for the audience to question who is in the casket."
