Just hours after canceling his tour following a rant onstage at a Sacramento, Calif. show, musician and frequent Keeping Up With the Kardashians presence Kanye West was placed under observation at a Los Angeles hospital, NBC reported Monday.
West's admission was "for his own health and safety," following Los Angeles police responding to a medical welfare call at about 1:20 p.m. Pacific time. The hospitalization follows weeks of behavior that seemed erratic, even for the eccentric star; he recently stunned fans at a San Jose show by saying that he didn't vote but would have supported Donald Trump (despite at least appearing to back Hillary Clinton previously) and then, in Sacramento, lashing out at superstar colleagues Jay-Z and Beyonce and ending his concert after just three songs. His Saint Pablo tour was canceled Monday, owing to what reps called exhaustion.
It's been a rough few months for the family: West's wife, Kim Kardashian, is reportedly still reeling after being tied up at gunpoint and robbed in Paris in October. Just a month prior, his show at New York Fashion Week was deemed a disaster by the press. Representatives from Keeping Up have remained mum about whether the Paris incident, or the Fashion Week show, will be addressed on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
