Geoffrey Lewis, an American character actor known for Western movies, has passed away at 79, Varietyreports. Lewis died of natural causes Tuesday in Woodland Hills, Calif., according to a family friend.
Lewis, whose daughter is Secrets and Lies star Juliette Lewis, is best known for appearing in multiple Clint Eastwood films, including High Plains Drifter, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Bronco Billy.
Throughout his career, Lewis also appeared on television shows such as Hawaii Five-0, Murder, She Wrote, Little House on the Prairie, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in the the 1980 comedy series Flo.
Lewis is survived by his wife Paula Hochhalter and his 10 children.
