Julianne Hough on What Went Wrong with Ryan Seacrest

Julianne Hough didn't hold back in a recent interview with Redbook, analyzing her current and past relationships.

Hough has been dating hockey player Brooks Laich since December, but before that she was with Ryan Seacrest for nearly three years. When the couple initially split in March 2013, they cited their busy schedules, but it seems there was more to the breakup than that.

"Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right," Hough said of her previous romances. "I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect."

After attending a six-day seminar about creating your own destiny, Hough learned to really open up in relationships. "Now I'm not holding anything back, because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love," Hough said. "If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?"
