Judge Orders DMX to Six Months in Jail

Rapper DMX was ordered by a judge to spend six months in a Phoenix jail for violating his probation and to undergo a mental-health evaluation, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, admitted in court on Tuesday to violating his probation by failing a drug test last June, reports The Associated Press.

The 39-year-old rapper was arrested for violating his probation on March 9. He had previously served a 90-day sentence for felony convictions on charges including cruelty to animals, theft and two drug counts, according to the AP.

Authorities have arrested Simmons five times, according to the AP, including an August 2007 raid on his home where they found 12 neglected dogs, three buried dogs, drugs and weapons.
