Josh Malina Teased a West Wing Reboot and We Don't Know How to Feel

Could we be getting a reboot of The West Wing? Joshua Malina, who starred in the critically-acclaimed series for four seasons as campaign manager-turned-congressman Will Bailey, teased a revival early Thursday morning with a cryptic tweet.

"Talking reboot," he tweeted, along with a picture of him reuniting with former cast mates including Bradley Whitford and Janel Moloney, as well as series creator Aaron Sorkin.

Regarded as one of the greatest shows of all time, The West Wing followed the inner workings of the White House under President Jed Bartlet's (Martin Sheen) administration and has been lauded for its accurate portrayal of what goes down behind the scenes in the nation's highest office. In a time where a tumultuous political landscape feels like we're living in the dystopian hellscape you only read about in young adult novels, it makes sense to bring the show back.

However, given Malina's reputation as a notorious prankster, we're taking this one with a grain of salt. During this same dinner, Malina also stole Whitford's phone and tweeted out a flirtatious message to Kumail Nanjiani which has since been deleted. "I'm having dinner with @JoshMalina. He took my phone and tweeted that last tweet. It was not me. I swear to God. Forgive him," Whitford revealed on Thursday morning.

But just because Malina isn't a trustworthy source, that doesn't mean a reboot is completely out of the picture. After all, most of the cast seems to be down for reuniting including Rob Lowe, who dropped some hints about bringing the gang back together in an unrelated tweet earlier this week.

"New "Will And Grace"! New "Sopranos"! New "The Office"! I wish I had been in something that would make a good re-boot. Maybe something timely, that would have relevance in this divided political climate?" he wrote.

Time will tell if an actual reboot will happen or if the reunion photo is just another one of Malina's tricks. In the meantime, you can stream The West Wing in its entirety on Netflix.
