Josh Elliott is out at NBC, less than two years after joining the network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Elliott joined NBC Sports in 2014 after a successful tenure at ABC that saw him become news anchor at Good Morning America, but he left after failing to agree to a contract renegotiation.
Elliott earned $4 million a year from NBC Sports, considerably less than he demanded from ABC.
Elliott and NBC told THR that the decision to leave was mutual. It's unclear what's next for Elliott, but industry insiders think he could be going to Fox Sports, which recently hired Jason Whitlock and Colin Cowherd away from ESPN.
