The Office without Jim? Is this one of Jim's pranks?

In December, word got out that NBC was thinking about bringing The Office back for a revival season. The beloved comedy ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013, and NBC is reportedly exploring continuing the series with a mix of old and new cast. Steve Carell made it clear he would not be involved and it sounds like John Krasinski may be out too, though not necessarily of his own volition.

Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert, a paper salesman whose relationship with Pam (Jenna Fischer) was the emotional backbone of the show, told Ellen DeGeneres on Monday's episode of her talk show that NBC hasn't approached him about appearing in revival. But if they did, Krasinski added, he would say yes in a heartbeat.

"Are you kidding me? Oh my God," he said. "I'd love to get that gang back together."

If I were Krasinski, I wouldn't worry too much. It might be that it's just too early in the process to get him involved. I mean, if you're continuing The Office, you have to at least check in with Jim and Pam, right? Even though they no longer work at Dunder-Mifflin and moved from Scranton to Austin, they have to go back and visit their families sometime!

But it's not like Krasinski's sitting around waiting for the call. He co-wrote, directed and starred alongside his wife Emily Blunt in a movie called A Quiet Place, which comes out in April. Plus, he's starring in Amazon's big-budget action series Jack Ryan, which premieres this summer. Krasinkski's busy, but it sounds like he'd make time for The Office if asked.

So now we can only wait and see. The Office revival is not a done deal, but if you really need a hit of Jim and Pam ASAP, the full series is on Netflix.
