CNN anchor John King will formally take over Lou Dobbs' longtime time slot when his new show, John King, USA, premieres March 22 at 7/6c.

CNN's chief national correspondent announced the program's title and premiere date on his Twitter account Friday. In a video on CNN.com, King said the program would have a national focus, despite being broadcast primarily from Washington.

Candy Crowley named CNN's new Sunday morning anchor

King, 46, takes over the evening shift that Lou Dobbs Tonight held for many years before Dobbs abruptly left in November.

Veteran political correspondent Candy Crowley took over King's duties on the Sunday morning program State of the Union on Feb. 7. King has been with CNN since 1997.
