Joan Rivers Takes Aim at OWN and Jersey Shore

Joan Rivers has made an entire career out of being brutally honest, whether through vicious stand-up or her infamous red carpet critiques.

So it's no shocker that Rivers was more than game to take aim at everything from Oprah's new network to Jersey Shore during the Television Critics Association's winter previews.

WE TV taps Joan Rivers for new series

"Does anyone want to know about our new network? It's called Rent," Rivers, 77, joked less than 24 hours after Oprah plugged her new network, OWN. Instead of Oprah's inspirational message of you can, you can, you can, Rivers said her network's motto would be, "you can't, you can't, you can't, so shut up and have a drink."

Unfortunately, Rent won't be coming to TV anytime soon, but fans will soon see more of Rivers on the small screen. Her new reality series, Joan Knows Best?, will document Rivers' move from New York to Los Angeles, where she moves in with her daughter and longtime red carpet partner-in-crime, Melissa.

The show also coincides with Joan's return to E!'s Fashion Police after a seven-year absence. Joan is happy to be back talking awards show do's and don'ts, but says she's also relieved to have the red carpet days behind her

"You always wanna leave the party when it's still fun," she said, noting how much more difficult it became to tell A-listers like Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie what she really thought of their ensembles

Although she's spent the last few years in the reality TV bubble — besides her upcoming show, she won her season of Celebrity Apprentice — Joan said she isn't a fan of one of the genre's biggest hit: Jersey Shore.

"I don't want to watch people who live in trailers. That's reality I don't like," Joan said. However, she quickly backtracked to say she loved having Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi on Fashion Police.

"And we hope Snooki will come and visit us again," she said. "Hey we're whores."

Joan Knows Best? premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 9/8c on WE.
