J.K. Rowling to Pen a Harry Potter Encyclopedia

And the Harry Potterfans go wild!

Author J.K. Rowling has finally announced that she's working on the long-rumored Harry Potter encyclopedia. "For a long time I have been promising an encyclopedia of Harry's world, and I have started work on this now — some of it forms the new content in Pottermore," Rowling announced on her website. "It is likely to be a time-consuming job, but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."

Reports of the future Harry Potter companion book began swirling when Rowling and Warner Brothers filed a lawsuit in late 2007 against RDR Books over the publication of an unofficial Harry Potter Lexicon. While testifying in 2008, Rowling noted that she had begun work on her own Potter encyclopedia.
