Jesse James and Kat Von D End Engagement

Jesse James and Kat Von D have called off their engagement, People reports.
"I'm so sad because I really love her," James tells the magazine. "The distance between us was just too much."

The couple had been commuting between Austin, Texas, where James lives, and Los Angeles, where Von D shoots her show L.A. Ink. Von D confirmed the split on Twitter early Tuesday."I am no longer w Jesse and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats [sic] all the info I'd like to share," she wrote. "Thanks for respecting that."

The pair started dating last summer, shortly after the motorcycle builder's cheating scandal that led to his divorce from Sandra Bullock. Ironically, James moved to Austin from L.A. so his kids from his previous relationships could be closer to Bullock and he to her son, Louis.James and Von D got engaged in January and were planning a summer wedding around their one-year anniversary.
