Move over, Regis: Jerry Seinfeld is taking your seat on Live.

The Seinfeld comedian has been tapped as the first guest host opposite Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly following the departure of Regis Philbin on Nov. 18. Seinfeld will join the show for three tapings beginning Nov. 21.

Regis Philbin reveals he's leaving Live over contract issues

"Jerry is a great friend of ours, and a friend of Kelly's, and it doesn't hurt that he's an entertainment icon," said executive producer Michael Gelman. "It's a great way to kick off the new beginning of our show."

In January, Philbin announced his exit. "There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera," he said then, joking, "especially certain old people." A permanent replacement has yet to be named, but Ryan Seacrest, Andy Cohen and Mark Consuelos —  Ripa's husband — are reportedly the top three candidates.
