Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek shocked the world last month when he announced he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. On Wednesday, after wrapping Season 35 of the show, he offered fans an update on his health and the status of Jeopardy!

"I've always tried to be straight with you, and I'm not going to stop now, so despite what you may have heard, I'm feeling good," Trebek said. "I'm continuing with my therapy and we... [are] already working on our next season, the 36th year of Jeopardy! ... I look forward to seeing you once again in September with all kinds of good stuff."

Trebek also took the time to thank fans -- young people in particular -- for all the well wishes and cards he's received since announcing his diagnosis.

"I wanted once again to thank you for your continuing messages of encouragement and support," he said, "particularly, the many cards I've received from young people. I'm touched beyond words."
