As the country enters the final month before what's sure to be one of the most important midterm elections in history, CBS Evening News will be coming to you from key battleground states to shed light on critical issues.

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 9, Jeff Glor will anchor the news from states with competitive races to bring comprehensive, on-the-ground coverage to viewers. As part of his coverage, Glor will be interviewing candidates, but more importantly, he'll be talking to voters about the issues that matter most to them.

"Midterms are such a fascinating way for Americans to engage. Whether it's in the middle of the biggest city or the smallest town, we want to have open, honest, fair conversations with viewers, voters, and candidates, now and for years to come," Glor said in a statement. "We can't wait to hit the road."

Glor's first stop is Phoenix, Arizona, where he will talk with voters about key topics, including the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. He'll also make stops in Texas, Missouri and Florida.

The CBS Evening News broadcast will also feature in-depth reporting from CBS News correspondents across the country, as well as immersive coverage in the "Eye on America" segment, and the latest CBS News polling.
