Jane the Virgin: Brooke Shields Joins Cast as [Spoiler's] Nemesis

Jane the Virgin continues its stellar guest casting with the addition of Brooke Shields, according to Variety. But what we're particularly excited about is who she'll be playing.

Shields is joining the series as a former supermodel named River Fields who gets into a spat with Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camil) and the feud only gets bigger when things go viral, turning Fields into Rogelio's new nemesis. Oooooh!

The actress joins the CW telenovela for a five-episode arc beginning Friday, Feb. 9.

The network also recently announced that Rosario Dawson would be joining the series for a guest arc, though it did not say who she will be playing.

Shields is best known as the child star of the provocative 1980 film The Blue Lagoon, and the lead of the late-'90s NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan. More recently, she also starred in Lipstick Jungle, Army Wives and did an arc on Law & Order: SVU.

Jane the Virgin returns Friday, Jan. 26 at 9/8c on The CW.
