Jane Lynch to Host Emmy Ceremony

Jane Lynch will host this year's prime-time Emmy ceremony, Fox announced Thursday. "We're delighted ... When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents — as Jane proved in last year's opening number — we know it's going to be fun for us and for the audience at home," said John Shaffner, chairman of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Lynch, who took home the Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Comedy last year for her performance as Sue Sylvester on Glee, joked: "I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit."

Lynch already has the approval of someone who's neatly emceed the Emmys and Tonys. Neal Patrick Harris tweeted: "Jane Lynch is hosting this year's Emmys. Great call. Perfect choice. Can't wait."

Emmy nominations will come out July 14, and the 63rd awards ceremony in Los Angeles — with Mark Burnett as executive producer — will air Sept. 18 on Fox.
