James Corden is bringing his Late Late Show "Carpool Karaoke" segment to primetime and the new promo for the CBS special is amazing.
In step to Macklemore's "Downtown," Corden raps in the clip, "Primetime, 10 to 11. Mainstream, like a slice of heaven. Big shot, gonna work like crazy. Sampling my skills like Jay Z."
The special will lead to an epic session with the Jennifer Lopez, who joins the ranks of divas Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson andAdele who have belted out tunes with the late night comedian.
The hope is that "Carpool Karaoke" might spin off into its own primetime series the way that Jimmy Fallon's Lip Sync Battle did at Spike. Even if the primetime special doesn't deliver the requisite ratings to make that dream happen, this promo is an excellent indication what viewers will be in for when Corden hosts the 2016 Tony Awards on June 12.
The primetime special for "Carpool Karaoke" airs Tuesday, March 29 at 10/9c on CBS.
