Jaycee Chan, the son of action star Jackie Chan, has been detained in Beijing on drug-related charges, the Associated Press reports.

The 31-year-old actor was detained last Thursday, along with Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, local authorities revealed Monday on their official microblog. According to police, both tested positive for marijuana and admitted using the drug. One hundred grams of it were taken from Chan's home.

Jaycee Chan's management, M'Stones International, apologized on his behalf for the "social impact" he caused, in a statement posted on their website. The company said they would "supervise his rehabilitation and help him return to the right path."

Chan's detainment comes two months after President Xi Jinping declared that illegal drugs should be wiped out and that offenders would be severely punished. More than 7,800 people have been caught in the crackdown in just Beijing, according to police.

Chan is accused of accommodating drug users, which carries a maximum sentence of three years behind bars. Ironically, his father was named an anti-drug ambassador by China in 2009, and Ko was part of an anti-drug campaign two years ago.

Jaycee is the only son of Jackie Chan and his longtime wife, Lin Feng-jiao. The Rush Hour actor also has a daughter.
