Jennifer Lopez is back in the music game and will kick off a new album cycle with a performance during the American Idol series finale.

American Idol creator insists show "will be coming back for sure"

The singer, Shades of Blue actress and Idol judge announced via Facebook live Monday that she'll debut "Ain't Your Mama" during Idol's two-hour April 7 special that will crown the final Idol winner. The single will be available on iTunes following the finale.

Lopez also shared that her favorite thing about being an Idol judge is getting a front row seat to the beginning of a young pop star's career. This week, Trent Harmon, La'Porsha Renae and Dalton Rapattoni will battle it out for the honor of being the last American Idol.

The American Idol finale is spread over three nights with a retrospective special on Tuesday, and the eliminations spread overWednesday and Thursday. Tune in on Fox at 8/7c for all of the music glory, including performances by Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
