It Ends With Us has gotten a lot of attention in the past few months and for all the wrong reasons. The movie itself is a stellar flick with extremely powerful messaging, but everything that went on behind closed doors? Well, it's enough to make you want to watch the film even if you weren't planning on it beforehand.
Now, It Ends With Us is finally available for rent and purchase on Prime Video at $20 to rent and $25 to buy respectively.

It Ends With Us
AmazonFor those who may not know, It Ends With Us is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by author Colleen Hoover. The movie explores themes of love, heartbreak, and the complexities of difficult relationships. At its core, it delves into the emotional journey of a woman named Lily Bloom (played by Blake Lively) torn between her past and present, joining issues that had occurred from her past with her late father and her current dating life. It touches on sensitive subjects like trauma and resilience, offering a raw yet hopeful narrative. Without giving too much away, it's a powerful story that balances vulnerability with strength.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
AmazonBut, the book itself has caused quite the stir due to its controversial and triggering nature that has the power to negatively effect readers and moviegoers. Also, the marketing was... questionable. Fans and critics alike have pondered over how the heavy themes of domestic violence are being hit with bright, almost whimsical promotional efforts. The disconnect became incredibly obvious when a coloring book (yes, a coloring book, of all things) was announced to accompany the novel, only to be swiftly taken off shelves after public backlash.
On top of that, the movie's promo has been all over the place, with more focus on Lively's flower-filled press tour and Ryan Reynolds' jokes than on the seriousness of the story at play. Justin Baldoni, who not only stars in but also directs the film, has been strangely missing from most of the big promotions, sparking rumors of some behind-the-scenes drama. With no clear direction in how the movie's being marketed, fans are starting to wonder if the real message is getting drowned out by all the glitz. Considering the film tackles heavy topics like intimate partner violence, this mismatch is making people question if anything was being handled the correct way.
That all being said, the reviews are in and people are actually surprised at how well-done the film is. And, not to be messy, but all the in-our-face and behind the scenes drama has us way too curious to watch.
Just as curious? Well, that's perfect timing. Rent or buy the film below and get watching.
