"We've built a contract with the audience and want to give them a sense of closure," USA Network co-president Jeff Wachtel told Variety, which first reported the news.

In Plain Sight, about a U.S. marshal who must balance her dedication to her job in the witness protection program with her dysfunctional personal life, wrapped its fourth season on Aug. 7 to 4.09 million viewers.

USA made similar moves when it ended Monk in 2009 and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, announcing each series' final seasons well in advance. Criminal Intent's final eight episodes were paired with In Plain Sight on Sundays earlier this year.
