As the original series' creator and executive producer, Wayans will host and executive-produce the two specials, which will air sometime in Spring 2012. Fresh, young talent will be featured in the sketches, and special guests will come on for musical performances. Deadline reports that if the specials succeed, Fox will reboot In Living Color as a series next season.
In Living Color aired from 1990-1994 and featured most of the Wayans clan — Keenen, Damon, Kim, Shawn, Marlon and Dwayne — in regular roles or as extras. On the sketch comedy side, the show helped launch the careers of Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier and Jamie Foxx. The show also featured dancers known as the Fly Girls. Of them, Jennifer Lopez, Dancing With the Stars' Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Rosie Perez broke out to bigger and better things.
The series featured a few iconic sketch comedy characters that included Fire Marshall Bill (Carrey), Homey D. Clown (Damon Wayans) and the Men on Film (Damon Wayans, Grier), who coined the phrase, "Two snaps up!"
